Celebrate 20 Years Of Freedom At The Tribute Music Festival

Music lovers can look forward to an evening of superlative entertainment when some of South Africa’s popular artists collaborate in a special Freedom Day concert on the 27th of April. The music event – The Tribute – is organized by veteran producer, Pinky Mothie from Big M Productions in conjunction with the Youth Film Development Programme to mark the 20th anniversary of democratic freedom in South Africa.

In the spirit of Freedom Day, there is no entrance fee for the show, making the event accessible to everyone. The party kicks off at 19:00 and will finish at about 22:30.

The Tribute will be staged at Golden Horse Casino’s ample Grandstand – a preferred venue for large scale concerts and events in Pietermaritzburg. Cognisant of the diverse cultural groups in Pietermaritzburg, the organisers have ensured that the concert will feature a variety of music genres and performers with universal appeal.

On the bill for the night are the likes of Rajiv Mothie, Dees Sharma; Anthony Joseph; Talent Search winner Kenty; Ashok Ramchundra; Sabelo Zuma; Shane Maharajh, and Dukes Combo. Dave Guselli of East Coast Radio fame is the host for the evening.

“We are thrilled to play host to the Freedom Day Concert in celebration of South Africa’s 20 years of democratic freedom. Music has an extraordinary power to bring people together and we believe this event to be a fitting way to mark Freedom Day 2014,” says the casino’s Marketing Manager, Prabashni Reddy.
