PADCA Receives A Helping Hand

PADCA, which cares for over 700 senior citizens resident in old age homes and through its Home Based Care Programme, has received a welcome donation of bed linen from Golden Horse Casino and Hotel. The generous stock of linen was handed over to PADCA at Golden Horse on April the 1st.

The organization relies on the donations and sponsorships it receives from the public to continue providing essential care and support to elderly in local communities.

PADCA’s CEO, Hillary Mumford says: “The quality and quantity of items we received is overwhelming and we cannot express our thanks sufficiently. Our stock of linen runs low very quickly as we often must change some residents up to six times a day. This generous donation will certainly help to alleviate this challenge for a good while. We also hope to share some of the linen with other homes that we connect with in the North natal area.

“A special word of thanks goes to the Southern Sun Golden Horse Housekeeper, Nospiho, for her excellent support throughout the collection process.”

Maureen Kivits, the Director of Operations and Complex General Manager at Golden Horse says the complex tries to assist organizations providing support and care to people in need.

“The elderly are sadly amongst the most neglected and forgotten members of our society, and much can be said about a community by the way in which it treats its elderly citizens. PADCA provides invaluable care and support to the elderly and we are honoured to be in a position to assist in addressing one of the challenges they face.

“The donation of linen to PADCA forms part of our ongoing community upliftment programme and is aligned to our efforts to reuse and recycle used supplies which are still in excellent condition.”
